We will convene where else? Breakfast at PROUD MARY where it all started for Nolan in Melbourne as his staff welcomes us for an incredible breakfast and coffee tasting For lunch, we’ll have an insider's tour and lunch at Nolan's favorite brewpup. Then, because this is not your grandmother’s food adventure, dinner at a fantastic wine bar in the Fitzroy neighborhood.

April 8
More coffee, you say? We’ll do it up at one of Nolan’s favorite cafes. We’ll have the afternoon off, and then meet for dinner at Dinner By Heston, which has garnered two Michelin stars at its London location. This will be our most formal meal of the trip.

April 9
This morning we’ll head to one of Nolan’s favorite coffee shops in Melbourne for a tasting. You’ll be free to roam for a bite to eat on your own, but save room. This is a big food day! We’ll grab some of Nolan’s favorite fried chicken for lunch and then it’s back to Fitzroy for another bar-focused casual dinner.

April 10
The day starts at a cafe that may remind you of Portland’s Proud Mary. Delicious and beautiful dishes and of course great coffee to power you through your day, the rest of which is yours to do as you wish. Nolan can make some suggestions, of course.

April 11
Ready for another incredible breakfast? Yes, Melbourne is known for its incredible breakfast and brunch scene, and who knows better than our own Nolan Hirte? For lunch a real treat. We’ll head to Lune Croissanterie for some of the best croissants on the planet. We’ll also marvel at a pastry making demonstration while our olfactory sense is teased to no end. Cry mercy, but we’re not releasing you! Dinner will have a Greek twist, and we’ll sure you’ll love it.

April 12
You’ve got another great brunch in you, don’t you? From BBQ Brisket Toasty, to Peace in the Middle East, to Smashing Pumpkins, we’ve got a treat for you. That will carry you through to dinner, where, of course we shall have Melbourne’s best Mexican food.

About Nolan Hirte and Proud Mary

Listen to Nolan talk about Proud Mary and our trip on RIGHT AT THE FORK HERE:

Founder and owner of Proud Mary, Nolan Hirte talks COFFEE!

Proud Mary was founded by husband and wife Nolan and Shari Hirte in 2009 in Melbourne, Australia. Proud Mary offers products and services that improve the start of your day so dramatically, that it's impossible to go back to the way things used to be.

At our first US location in beautiful Portland, Oregon we aim to provide an amazing and heart felt experience for our customers.

We source coffee direct from origin, and supply coffee around Australia and America. At our retail locations we offer all-day breakfast, delicious lunch, high-end tea, fresh juice, smoothies, cakes and pastries and table-service along our coffee. We love what we do and in true Australian-style we have a genuine, warm, fun and sometimes a little bit cheeky nature and can't wait to spoil our customers!

Like our big sister cafe Proud Mary in Melbourne Australia, the café in the Alberta Arts District offers all the goods things in life. We thrilled to be using fresh, healthy, sustainable, ethically and locally sourced producers.

Our passion for coffee has shaped the company that is the Proud Mary brand. We feel privileged to be part of the international coffee community and this fills us with pride, and offers a sense of fulfilment every day.

We believe that at origin there is a real need to make things better for all those involved in coffee production. It takes years of investing in farmers and committing to buy their coffee year in and year out to work towards better tasting and higher-quality coffee. We strive to create a market to sell more high-end coffees.

We look forward to showcasing some really special coffees and sharing the story behind the bean. We hope that like in Australia our customers feel connected to a real product.
